When I am painting, I like to settle down to the rousing melodies of bands like Bad Religion, Social Distortion, The Street Dogs, The Real McKenzies, or The Dropkick Murphies. What kind of music do you paint your miniatures to? Classical, Rock and Roll, Big Band and Melodies of the 1940's? Come on, confess – you secretly love the Go-Gos or the Bangles! What is the soundtrack of your miniatures life? Enquiring minds want to know! |

Normally XM Radio's Home Plate channel. However you can also find me from time to time listening to a 70's list or my list from my computer. It keeps the wife away when I need the solitude

While I like Lili Marleen (the one by Marlene Dietrich, not the original by Lale Anderson and definately not the one by Vera Lynn) my choice would be Handel Wrong period I know, but it keeps me to task |

I like the soundtrack CDs from Ken Burns' THE WAR. It's basically a bunch of classic swing hits from the late 30's-early 40's that were played on the radio both at home and for soldiers on the from during the war. It creates a nice period feel. <sigh> My painting still sux, but at least I get the music right. |

I'm painting – does it matter which music I listen to when painting figures? I listen to anything and everything, from movies, soundtracks, and music (preferring rock, metal, classical, and other selected works thrown into the mix). |

For painting Germans – the "Battle of the Bulge" Panzerlied clip is appropriate; for painting Americans – George C. Scott at the opening of "Patton" should set the mood. |

I have my own little playlist: Soundtrack from Patton Themes from: The Guns of Navarone Force 10 from Navarone Empire of the Sun Tora! Tora! Tora! A bridge too far Bridge over the River Quai The Great Escape (Elmer Bernstein was a genius!) Opening theme from "The World at War" "The Red army is the strongest" by the Red Army Choir The Blue Max (I'll second that one!) Or, when I paint the Hun, there's a "Deutsche Armee Potpourri" (or something like that) on Youtube of original Wehrmacht marching tunes, done in 1943 I think. |
