Hi, I'm starting a knights of St John DBA army (IV/56). I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what manufacturers have figures that would be appropriate for the militia elements (Crossbow, Spear and Psiloi)? I know these are meant to be natives and colonists, but I have no idea as to what their dress, armour and weapons would look like. Thanks |

Try Armies of the Middle Ages Vol 1 and 2 and Armies of the Crusades, both from WRG Press. These are for an army in the Holy Land? or Rhodes? or Malta? |

I would presume Rhodes (since DBA lists cut somewhere around 1400). In which case I think that some late Byzantine models would be the most suitable ones to represent locals. |

The scale would be useful to know |

Donnington and Essex in 15mm both have Late Byzantine for officers and Greek archers and spearmen for hoi poloi. |
