So Old Crow was suggested to me as a line that has really impressive 15mm vehicles. Checked out their site and they do look very good. Unfortunately. . . seems like most the the pictures are of 3d renders. . . not the actual models. Has anybody dealt with Old Crow? What's their service like? How do the models compare to the renders on the site? |

I only have experience with the 28mm product being shipped to the U.S., but had great service every time. |

I too have only bought their 25mm vehicles but they are great products with great service. I bet if you were to email them and ask they would send you a pic. |

I've found it to have good flavor, but occassionally is harsh on the throat. If you like Bourbon Whiskeys, there's better out there than Old Crow, but it's still a fine drinkin' whiskey it is! Oh wait..you don't mean the bourbon? Oops

I just checked their site to be sure, but believe all of those 15mm vehicles are actually the resin vehicles themselves, primed gray. They are some of the nicest cast miniatures in the business, with few, if any air bubbles or pits. The sculpting on them is quite good too. I imagine you will be very happy with them. Service is decent. Took a few weeks for me to receive them from overseas, but that is expected. |

Wow. . . if those are the actual vehicles. . . I think they are going to be very happy with me. Probably get a christmas card. ;) |

I have only bought from the 25mm line, but the vehicles I have were excellent, and the service (to the U.S.) was excellent. |

Old Crow 15mm vehicles are awesome. The pictures you are seeing are the resin vehicles and not renders. I have some shots of various vehicles, but a bunch are old crow 15mm. link link |

I have a pile of their stuff and the quality is phenomenal. However, just be advised that Jez casts a lot of things to order rather than maintain a standing stock, so your order will probably take around three weeks to arrive. I've never been disappointed with the product, though, and he'll even do custom orders. |
javelin98 | 21 Nov 2009 8:53 p.m. PST |
And talk about good PR
Jez once included a thank-you note in my order, thanking me for ordering from him in spite of the dismal dollar-Pound exchange rate. Class act, all around. |
| KJdidit | 21 Nov 2009 9:33 p.m. PST |
I've also had excellent service from OC. I've yet to receive a piece with a noticeable air bubble, and turnaround has always been right about 2 weeks to the US. Top notch all 'round. |
| Mardaddy | 21 Nov 2009 9:47 p.m. PST |
I ordered some 15mm vehicles from him a few weeks ago, got a prompt email verifying all javelin98 said. He does not keep a stock, and it'll be 3 weeks. I have bought quite a few 28mm stuff from him in the past, and Jez has the best quality "clean" casts I've found (I've bought from DLD & Pig Iron before.) With the 28mm stuff, Jez also threw in a lot of options and extras that were NOT listed as part of the model on his website. I'll have to wait to see if the same holds for his 15mm shipment. In a word, he's aces. |

What renders on the site? All he has got up are pictures. Not as fast as Ground Zero Games, but that is a hard record to meet. |

Yes, all the O/C stuff I've seen is Top Shelf ! And those are real vehicles you see in the pics
not CGI. I'm still hoping Jez does his Slammer AFVs in 6mm

I haven't done an OC order in ages – probably two years – but they're fantastic vehicles, as others have said – amazingly high quality resin casts. I got mine in less than two weeks; it wasn't that big an order, though. |
| TheDreadnought | 21 Nov 2009 11:55 p.m. PST |
I'm not really worried about a few weeks here or there. Just quality miniatures at a reasonable price. Looks like his are fantastic! I'll be starting my 15mm collection with OC. Thanks guys! |

His stuff is excellent. My 1st order though took over a month without any notice from him. Makes me reluctant to place another unless I plan it out very far in advance. Thanks, John |

Never had an issue just do not be in a hurry. The last thing I bought was via the Bob Olley site and I have never seen a resin model cast so cleanly before. He had even sanded down the wheels so it fit together perfectly. I've had the pleasure in meeting Jez at a couple of shows and he is very polite and interested in what happens to the figures. Sometimes he even has 'one-off' trial casts for sale rather than normal stock so order in advance and take extra cash if you plan to catch up with in at a show. Do wish he would increase the number of humans in the 15mm range though

Old Crow was my first experience with both resin vehicles and 15mm. Pretty much what everybody else has said, takes a while for the order to come through. I ordered a platoon of infantry and a Claymore APC, but it was missing one squad which came in a separate pack a week or two later. Only one guy was miscast – a botched arm – which I turned into a casualty. The metal is kind of brittle, it took a couple of snapped-off legs to figure this out. Detail is first class, based on Future Force Warrior concepts. The APC came with a choice of 3 gun barrels too. |

Another thumbs up from me! I have a bunch of the 25mm Glaives, a Gladius and a Trojan and although delivery times are a few weeks (due to him casting to order) I was blown away by the quality and Customer service. On one order, because I had to wait an extra week, he sent me a free bunch of turrets, vehicle stowage and 'un-released' (at the time) new metal gun-barrels. All of the pix in the Old Crow section of the site are real pix of the resin vehicles
you won't find renders on there ;). |

Thumbs up all round from me. I ordered my very first 15mm resin vehicles from Old Crow last month (the Crow lander and the Goanna scouts). Very impressed, little if any cleaning up and lovely vehicles which paint up a treat. Place your order, forget about it (if you can, it does take a while) and when it arrives I am sure you wont be disappointed. |

I recently ordered some Old West bit and pieces from Old Crow, the first time i have bought from them. Had very quick email responses and, like others have mentioned, the items took about 3-4 weeks to get to me (i'm in the UK as well) The resin pieces i bought are all excellent quality with no holes or cleaning up required. so i would recommend them, just bear in mind you will have to wait a little bit so don't get impatient ! |
| Brandlin | 22 Nov 2009 6:00 a.m. PST |
ditto here. real resin none of that computer rubbish there. and one of the friendliest of customer service experiences. my only minor niggle is everything is cast to order so it takes a little while – but the quality takes time i guess. I have trojans, transports slingshots, scouts geckos and goannas all in 28mm

Having quietly watched all the previous threads on Old Crow for the last few years, I thought I'd finally put my head above the parapet. As the friend who designed Jez's website, and has taken his product photos from the start of the Old Crow project, 10+ years ago, I am really pleased that someone says "seems like most the the pictures are of 3d renders. . . not the actual models" . Jez's brief to me has always been to make the detail stand out, without the cover-up/enhancement effect that painting the models can have. Having seen Jez at work many times, miscasts rarely appear in the first place, and when they do, they tend to get chopped up and used as filler in his other products. Ever since seeing the first pre-production samples of the Glaive and Gladius back in the late 90s, I knew that the quality of his workmanship would be appreciated. If only real life (a growing family), other work, finances and the limitaions of only having 24hrs a day to work in, would let him spend more time on Old Crow! |

Like so many on in this discussion, I have quite a few pieces from Old Crow. Absolutely stunning sculpts and production quality. Unfortunately for those in a hurry, Jez seems to cast on demand a lot of the pieces, so if you order a lot of stuff it may take a while for him to get you order made and sent out. Holidays will also slow down the mail a bit, so keep that in mind. It normally takes around a month for me to get models in the US, sometimes a little longer. The good thing is they are well worth the wait. Jeff |

Those are not renders, those are the vehicles, believe it or not. They are in Grey Resin. I have a table full in paint at the moment and they look exactly like the images in every detail. In particular their 15mm stuff is just stupendous. |

These pictures link are pretty much all 28mm but the quality is the same. One thing that hasn't been mention when buttering Jez up is the finishing quality of the resin that he puts in. Not only are the castings as free from blemishes as any injection moulded kit (so virtually no air bubbles) but the pieces are sanded flat: hull halves, turrets, all are a vacuum fit and go together in moments with just a few drops of super glue needing pretty much zero filler on joints. They are the easiest (and therefore fastest) vehicle kits to put together I have ever come across, bar none. I have just spent an hour assembling about 10 28mm vehicles (3 Claymores and some Slingshots and Trojans – all wheeled, all with turrets [yep – an hour]) for a forthcoming Slammers project. I spent twice that amount of time just assembling some 1/48th scale Tamiya Jerry cans and oli drums to use on them! One final point. Where appropriate, not only do the the kits have resin and metal gun barrels, they have etched brass pieces (mesh roofs on Slammers combat cars in both 28 and 15mm). Mesh stowage baskets in 28mm for the tanks. Aerials on some of the 6mm buildings, as I recall. He does great work and has the advantage – when dealing with him – of being a nice chap too. Take this as another affirmative vote for Jez and Old Crow. I have made about 6 purchases over the last two years and it usually takes about 21 days to my address in the States, but I did have one last summer that was over a month late, but it was not Old Crow's fault. I started out buying the deals with the Hammer Slammer vehicles (platoon of tanks or armoured cars) and then bought some infantry (bit smaller than GZG inf) and regular SF vehicles (which are nice but a bit bigger than GZG). Looking forward to buying some of that 6mm for Battletech. |

Jez and Old Crow do it right. I have tons of the stuff in 15mm and 25mm and it is all excellent
well-sculpted, well-cast and quickly delivered. |
