Would someone help me determine who makes the Sci-Fi buildings in this photo? link Also, here's a close-up shot of some heavy armor infantry units from the photo above. Who makes these (and in what scale?). I'm interested in the green/yellow camo units. link |

The buildings are old Fantasy Forge/Grendel/Kryomek resins (the company changed its name quite a lot
.) – I THINK they are still in production, possible from The Baggage Train? Not sure about the gun-headed PA suits in the second pic, though the two dark green powersuits immediately behind them are from the Genom pack of the old Bubblegum Crisis line that we (GZG) still produce; they are 25/28mm, which gives you a rough sizing for the rest of the pic – I wonder if the light infantry might be old Blade 20mm? Hope that is of some help, Jon (GZG) |

That was fast. Thanks for the ID on the buildings, at least! Anyone know a US distributor for the ScotiaGrendel Kryomek line? It looks like the shipping costs for the resin is going to hurt me
USA/Canada 2-3kgs: £30.00, 3-5kgs: £40.00, 5kgs or more: £50.00 GBP

no ideas on those gunheaded PA suits?! |
Lerchey | 11 Nov 2009 12:58 p.m. PST |
The Gunhead PA suits are by Reversco as part of their starguard line. Heavy Powered Armor or some such. I actually have a handful of them in a box somewhere and will likely never use them. If anyone wants to buy them or trade something for them, let PM me. :) Heh. I knew the answer to something! (can you tell what kind of day I'm having?) |

I wonder if the light infantry might be old Blade 20mm? Yes, as identified by Auton1 above. Nice swept back helmets! Cheers Mark |

I'll look for the minis this weekend. I think I know where they are, but I'm not 100% certain. Assuming I find them, I'll contact Grabula first as he asked first. If it's cool with him, maybe we can pass one through Thriathelete to have it for review, then maybe send it along to Grabula? Alternately, once I find 'em I can take some pics of all of the pieces for Thriath
Ok, I'll figure it out when I dig 'em up. :) |

Hi, These are my toys from the GZG ECC so let me expand on what folks have added. Yes the building are from the Kryomek range. Intended for 25mm (real 25, rather than 28mm) they are ideal for 20mm (the game in the pics is 20mm), but the doors and window heights are a tad large for 15mm. AFAIK they are still in production, at least I do see them on the Kryomek stand at Historicon. The green/yellow suits are Troll suits from Revirisco's Starguard range, these too are in production. these are a hefty 20mm PA suit. As Jon said the slim green suits are from GZG, they are intended for GZG's true 25mm so they too work for sleek advanced PA in 20mm. Unfortunately they are in a mixed pack (Genom personalities)rather than available singly. I got lucky and bought mine singly at a fleamarket. It s a single casting, another pose and selling them individually would be super, and while I'm wishing, an add on big PA-scale gun would be nice too. Teh light infantry is a mix of Liberation Minature's current Sci-fi range (the grey/green inf with swept helmets) and the old Blade range (yellow/green inf). Liberation has re-released a number of the old Blade range with modified weapons etc, these too are in current production. The yellow/green drones are from RAFM's current USX(?) range. The flying Daleks are kit-bashed from part of Revirisco's ranges. I think that about covers all in the pics. Check out he other ECC pics for more 20mm sci-fi fun! |

It appears you can get the trolls at the Tin Soldier [http://www.tin-soldier.com/]: tin-soldier.com/troll2.jpeg Imperial Powered Armor 8 man Troll Squad Old Earth is home to the Terran Imperium. Although members of the Federation, the Imperium fields its own marines. They wear their own unique and fearsome body armor. The Terran Troll powered armor units are used to take on especially 'hard' targets. Price: $20.00 USD What is also interesting is this weird waler tank ;)

Dreenoi Six Legged Walking Tank (Cockroach) This vehicle was first reported when the Independent Colony world, Finn's Landing was over-run in 2237. The primary defense of Finn's Landing was dependant on eight staticly mounted Hellbores, which proved totally inefective against the Cockroachs. The supporting Dreenoi infantry that were advancing in support of the Cockroachs were blasted to shreds, but the Hellbores were destoyed by return fire from the Cockroachs' Conversion Beams. Our kit is based on a vehicle captured intact at the battle of Black Mountain on the outpost of Orell, when its Cybercom operator died from the effects of ingesting slow acting ant poison. The defenders of the Orell Amcrys Mine, filled several cows up with ant poison, which they had mixed from some old anti-freeze and other commonly available household ingredients. They left the slaughtered cattle in the path of the Dreenoi invasion forces. The Dreenoi were very cooperative and delayed the attack long enought to devour the poisoned carcasses. The result was a hoped, most of the Dreenoi died during the attack. The rest of the Dreenoi were poisoned when they ate the bodies of their own dead. The vehicle is now on display at the Imperial War Museum on Old Earth. Price: $10.00 USD I wonder how big it would look next to 18mm [15mm] SF minis. |
Stuuuh | 15 Nov 2009 10:01 a.m. PST |
The drenoi are big, more like 28mm rather than 21/72 or 20mm, however, the Starguard vehicles tend to run small. TBH, I've been thinking hard of switching out mu dreenoi for GZG's new Crusties. Other figs to look for in the SG range are the Terran Marines – ideal for generic clone troopers in battle armour. |
