Hi everyone;
A couple of us just picked up some 15mm ships from Fall In and were looking to do some small battles, like you had on Lake Erie during the War of 1812.
I would say we want to have ship to ship combat and then crew versus crew combat.
Any suggestions?

What about the rules from Thorobred Miniatures (Prevailing Winds)…anybody try them.

Here's a quick note on how a gaming idea can snowball:-)
First we played Trafalgar with 1/2400 scale ships a few weeks ago. We liked it, started talking about building opposing fleets. But that wasn't enough for us, oh no… Then we started talking about using larger ships for the game…hmmm 1/1200 or 1/600?
Then at Fall In today my gaming buddy shows me a 15mm ship from Old Glory that he picked up. Sweet.
I run over and get one myself (The Niagara).
A half hour later we are at the Thorobred booth and see more ships, plus we order 15mm crews.
Then we start to thinking, hmmm, Trafalgar is not the right rules for this scale, we need something else:-(
so now we are back to looking at rule sets, for the larger ships.
Meanwhile we'll keep gaming with his 1/2400 scale ships or my 1/1200 ships.
It never ends.
Thanks
Joep

Thoroughbred's rules are superb.

Highly recommended.

Thanks everyone;
I see L&S on GFIs website, but can't find any info on them.
Do you have a quick run down on how they play?

I'm also pulled toward Thoroughbreds rules, as it looked like they had a lot of great historical info in them.

Thanks again;
Joe

Beat to Quarters is also quite fun, and free.
