Is it one chevron for each four years of service? I know that the stripes are red, or gold for senior nco's, but are they worn on just the left arm, or both arms? Thanks. |

From what I gather, the first chevron is for 10 yrs of service, the second for "approximately" 20 yrs, and the third for more than 20 to 25 yrs. And they should be on the upper left arm only. Someone else may be able to post a more "exact" reference to the service requirements, but I'm sure it's not for only 4 yrs. Dean |

According to the Histofig site: 5 years = 1 chevron 15 years = 2 chevrons 20 years = 3 chevrons link |
