Some questions about the roads:

Are the roads and buildings the same scale? The roads look wide. I assume they're the width of whatever miniature element frontage the game is for. Are the buildings a smaller scale?

Also maybe some kind of texture or shading on the roads might improve their look. Maybe it's there and doesn't show up in the pictures; the roads look like they're just glued on sand, nothing else (the darker bare earth shading on the edges does look good).
