I have a question for all of you. When go to purchase a group of figures from a painter/painting service (or at a Flea Market/Bring & Buy) how would you prefer to have the figures mounted? Do you want them already mounted on a base with multiple figures per base or would you prefer to have them made available as individual figures so you could mount them yourself?

I've sold figures/units in the past at shows and I've always wondered what would make it easier for people to purchase my figures so that is where this question is coming from. Thanks in advance.

when i buy figs form a bring and buy my considerarions are firstly how do i get they home and secondly rebasing them.
everything i've bought like this has been rebasd to fit alongside what i already have.

so to answer your question i'd like them mounted in 4s (28mm inf) and don't waste your time modelling the bases.

I like them loose, or mounted on bases using a material that allows the purchaser to easily pry them off to remount to their own system such as white glue.

Individual figures. Always.

It's a bother having to rebase and as I prefer singly mounted figures anyway it saves a lot of time.

Singles for a variety of reasons.

Not based. Everyone uses different rules, basing sizes and has various styles of basing.

I don't like not based unless I ask for it or the price has been reduced to reflect less labor. I buy painted figures because I don't have time to paint them myself, and I don't want a project when my new figures arrive of re-basing them.

I would say mount them single but add magnetic tape to the bottom so that that they can be used for any basing combination the buyer requires if they buy their own magnetic bases. It's also easier to trasnport them that way.

Base them with sand and static grass. That works most of the time. I think it's rare for someone to want something like snow, urban rubble, or lava.

I always buy them unbased because I like to base them around the rest of my army

I prefer unbased. I picked up some cavalry mounted two to a base earlier this year and now I have to pry them from the sculpted up wood bases to mount individually on metal.

I prefer unbased….although I've bought based figures on occasion, I've always had to rebase them.

All I wanted is painted horses for my dragoons or cavalry! I despise painting 28mm horses! Hate it! I also buy painted Indians,as I can't paint Native skin too well.
Other than that,I do my own work.

Have two sets of figures based and unbased. People buy the "look" of the based figures. I know I do.

Agree with Combatpainter. People are more likely to buy figures if they are based as they look better. Even if they have to rebase them. I know everyone says they want unbased, but look at ebay and see what prices based go for compared to unbased.
