Thought you'd like to see the new Pelagic Dominate SEA WASP from Khurasan Miniatures. link Lovely model designed by John Bear Ross, it shares the same concept heritage as the Pelagic Man o' War Grav armour, but is an incredibly versatile model. Cheers Mark |

It looks really good, but is it big enough for its pilot? Or is supposed to be unmanned? |
John Leahy | 05 Nov 2009 5:03 a.m. PST |
That is awesome! I'll have to get some of those. thanks, John |

is it big enough for its pilot? The Sea Wasp is designed for an alien pilot/crew. I am happy to use it with normal sized human miniatures. My Rebel Mini's Infiltrators will be using them for commando assaults and Spec Ops. Cheers Mark |

Too cool. And with a sprue of useful bits too! |

Mark's got it, wellspring -- like all Pelagic vehicles the sea wasp is crewed by Cnidarians, which are invertebrates so can fit into spots no human ever could. That said one human could fit inside the vehicle if you wanted to use it for your own gaming world, or it would make an imposing drone -- a predator for the XIV century! At six foot six inches tall on average, corporate marines are strapping lads and your average human in 15mm would be a bit smaller I think. The sea wasp acts in space as a sector superiority fighter, in high altitude as an air superiority fighter, and at NOE as.a light tank/recon vehicle. It can be configured to act as a fire control vehicle for a platoon of Man of War SPAs, the Cnidarians commonly attaching one sea wasp FCV to a uniit of three MOW-SPAs. Equipped with a sensor dish, the FCV delivers each missile from the big artillery vehicles on top of the target, aided by a cloaking device that makes the little vehicle hard to find and kill. Another lovely job by JBR -- thanks John! |

with a sprue of useful bits too! Yes. I figure that if I use the twin turret, then the disk can be a free standing UAV and the mini 'grenade launcher' can be used on some Old Crow scout cars. The twin 'laser' turret could be used as a UAV in it's own right or given legs from GZGs GMM-42 or GMM-06 to become a gun drone. Cheers Mark |

The twin guns on the sea wasp's turret are nematocyst cannons using cnidarian weapons tech -- they deploy toxins which infiltrate through inkrganic material at the atomic level, then arm upon reaching organic matter. Of course it can be whatever the gamer wants it to be! Google sea wasp to learn why Terran intelligence designated this vehicle "sea wasp." |

Of course it can be whatever the gamer wants it to be! It's a twin laser turret then. Cheers Mark |

Wow – I hadn't seen these, or the previous grav vehicles until now. I think I just found my Silakkan laser tanks for the "Revolt on Antares" stuff I'm working on! Great minis! EDIT TO ADD: I just looked at the rest of the line, and I think the Cniardians are about right for Silakkan troops as well, or at least as close as anything I've seen thus far. And to think all I'd looked at so far on the Khurasan minis site was the Sarmatian 15mms

after getting these: link I'm pretty stoked about getting this thing along with more of the Pelagic minis! keep up the awesome work guys! |

Grabula, really glad you like the vehicles. I think they are fabulous myself, a real testament to John Bear Ross's design style. Sorry about the wait, I try to avoid that. I had to wait for a restock though as I don't do my own casting. flintlocklaser, that's funny! Especially as the Sarmatians are not my typical line of historical, either. I consider there to be two styles of 15mm models -- models with exaggerated details and models with less exaggerated proportions. I had the Avars and Sarmatians made in an exaggerated style for people who like that, and many do (both are popular lines) because the details on the models are clearly visible from 4-6 feet away. I am in the normal proportions camp myself. Sometimes you have to pick the models up and look at them closer to see what they are, but still that's my own personal preference. Wolfshansa, the Terran grunts call them "kuh-nids" because they don't know the C is silent, like the P in "pool." I want to avoid "nids" as that evokes something different. |

no problem – the "wait" was a few days extra. I generally expect to get orders within about two weeks and I think even having to wait you hit that mark. |
flintlocklaser | 05 Nov 2009 11:30 a.m. PST |
Khurasanminis – Not to go too far off topic, but I found your stuff via a link from somewhere else (can't remember where from) and the Sarmatians just caught my eye as a possible opfor for my (hopefully upcoming) Principate Romans for FoG; I love the cavalry models you have as the featured pics! I do see what you're saying about the exaggerated weapons, but since I've slid into 15mm from Warhammer 40k, to me those sculpts look models of restraint and strict proportion! In any event, once I settle down and pick my first Ancients I'll definitely be ordering some of the Pelagics; the question is just if they'll be coming alone or in a box with some horsies! Thanks again for putting out such great lines of stuff! |
