A good while ago I got some GZG 15mm stuff for an RPG thing I was trying to get going based on the old TSR "Revolt on Antares" minigame. That never coalesced, but now that I'm jumping into minis gaming with both feet I'm going to revisit this idea. One thing I never managed to source was a decent 15mm unit to depict the native population of Antares 9. The artwork on the chits in the original game depicts them as sort of vaguely goblin-esque humanoids in loincloths carrying stone spears, but for Stargrunt purposes I think I'd like them to have at least some longarms for them to use partisan-style. Is there anything out there in 15mm that's: -hummanoid but inhuman -carrying some kind of long gun -preferably wearing not much more than 'skins' If there were some 15mm Burroughs-style Martians armed with long guns I think I could make them work, but all I'm aware of are the Peter Pig range with swords and pistols. My fallback option I think is going to be the Rebel Games Sahadeen figs, and I'll just redress the natives to be less technologically backwards, but I'd love to be able to keep that theme if possible so any suggestions would be a great help! Thanks in advance. |

If you're looking for Burroughs-style Martians, you need only look as far as Black Hat Miniatures' Martian Empires Line. Both Green Martians and their smaller, fewer-armed cousins, all carrying rifles. Carried by Black Hat in the UK ( blackhat.co.uk ) and Scale Creep ( scalecreep.com ) in the US. Hope that helps. Tim |

That's the look I was looking for, but I see they're listed as 18mm. Are they loads taller than 15mm figs? Or just tall enough that they'd fit the visual space of 'elves vs humans' against my other 15mm scifi troops? In any event, thanks for the pointer! |

The Martians wouldn't be out of place with any of the sci-fi 15's I have (Rebel Minis, Spriggan Games, GZG). They're a little shorter than the British Regulars from that line. I plan to use them as lower tech natives, myself. That's my two pennies. Hope it helps. |
