One of the posters on my Crimean site sent this: For those of us into 28mm scale, I've just heard from Great War Miniatures that they will be bringing out a new Crimean War range and have started sculpting British Guard and Line in regulation dress first (they will also be doing Brits in campaign dress as well). They intend the range to be a comprehensive one including possibly Sardinians.Size wise they will be the same height and heft as their present WW1 range. The advantage is that Dave and Aly, aside from being very talented scultors/designers, they are very much into the Crimean period so I should imagine this range will be a labour of love for them. All in all I think it's great news!! This is good news; i had heard Old Glory was going to do this as well but I suppose the economy bit them since i heard nothing more. |

I heard OG was going to put out a Crimean War line focused around Balaclave only in 40mm, maybe even just the Charge of the Light brigade in 40mm. It has been a while though. |

Hi, I Just dropped the first figures off at the mould makers. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get some castings. |

You are an evil, evil man. I'm really trying hard not to get into the Crimea in 28mm. |

Dave Really good news about Crimean War figs I had kept putting off starting a new period hoping someone was going to do this range after the rumours earlier this year. I know it is early days but is David correct in suggesting that it should be a comprehensive range and will they be available through the GWM site or will it be through North Star. Cheers Steve |

Sounds good to me. Will the figures be compatible size-wise with the Perry's earlier Foundry ones? |

PS Any release date on these new figs? |

If they are the same size as the current great war line they will have a tough time fitting in with the Foundry figs I would think. |

Yes they will be the same size as their current Great War range as they want to do a comprehensive range. The Foundry range is nice but perhaps a little dated now and a little incomplete as it's always annoyed us at my local club that you could'nt get Brits in greatcoat, Russian Naval troops or French in proper campaign dress or proper French Zouaves etc for the period and I've seen information on Turkish troops of the period that doesn't really match the Foundry "sculpts". So all in all it's all very exciting news and like Dave A says, he'll post a pic when he gets the figures back from the mould maker which I believe could be Brtish Line Inf in forage cap, so 2010 is already looking like a good year!! |

Oh, bloody hell. This is a dangerous topic to encounter when one's copy of Black Powder has just landed
. I had heard some rumblings to the effect that this range was being contemplated. Delighted to read that first castings will be on view in the relatively near future. |

Outstanding, just picked up on this from the Yahoo Group! I did Little Inkerman at Colours some years ago with my oppo, sadley he had to sell his Russians on and I never got around to painting mine, I have quite a collection of Foundry CW, am a GWM WW1 fan, I did like the CW game that Derby Wargames put on, managed to see it at Partizan this year. |

Have just received my first Crimean figs from Northstar and they are v. impressive. I shall order more next week once I have painted up the two packs this weekend. Does anyone out there know how they compare to the new Radetzky figs? Also who supplies Crimean flags as GWM only have two British flags (55th & 57th) |

I quite like the GWM stuff as well. Looking forward to the new Gurads models. As for the flags, Northstar has said that they will be doing a range but that it may be a while for it to be complete. Rob |
