I have ordered some of the economy 25mm x 25mm bases from Gale Force 9 for my Perry and Victrix plastic Napoleonics. In the past all of my figures and bases have been metal so I have used either epoxy or some CA type glue for mounting but since I've never worked with wood and plastic before I'm unsure of the best route. Can anyone with experience of these two materials let me know what the best bonding agent I can use would be?

I had posted this topic on other boards before I saw that there was a basing thread so sorry if this gets anyones knickers in a twist.

I think just about any glue will work just fine. I use CA glue.

If you run the figure bases over some sandpaper to give them some "tooth' then Arlene's Tacky Glue will fix them nicely to the wood. Advantage is it stays flexible a bit; so rebasing isn't a pain.
Arlene's can be had from any good craft store like Michael's or even some WalMarts.

I use hot glue for all of my basing. It works really well if you get the chips and have a hot glue pot. It is certainly a lot easier to dip and stick with 50 figs that you have to base than it is with drop of glue, position, hold that you have to do with anything else.

Bostik or UHU works fine, as does Evostick (the proper smelly stuff they won't sell to teenagers any more).

They work fine for metal figures too.

I used to use epoxy, until I had a dreadful rebasing experience trying to get the figures off again.

The advantage of using Uhu (or similar) and wooden bases is that if ever you need to re-base the figures standing them in a tray of water to soak for 24 hours makes the bases easy to peel off.
