We're now into November – just two months of 2009 left.
What are you looking forward to in the remains of the year with respect to wargaming?

For me it is a couple of rules sets – Republic to Empire and Lasalle – and the start tonight of our club Sharp Practice campaign.

Events, rules, figures to come before the turn of the year?

I might finally paint those OG modern Brits I bought back in May. I might even put those Armorfast Cromwells together and paint them.

More likely I'll just rebase 26th Panzer Division, I've got the box file down at any rate….

On the rules front, I've ordered 'To the Last Gaiter Button' and I'll be interested to see how they play. First proper playtest of the latest incarnation of my Corps level WW1 trench warfare rules this week, but they are still very much a work in progress.

Getting some games in of my Lord of the Rings variant for Basic iMpetus and getting the article shipped off to Battlegames.

And playing the new PT Boat rules (Quick and the Dead) thereby rescuing my boats from being sold off for lack of play in the last two years.

My last 2 months of painting and gaming before children arrive and change my priorities…

Pictors Studio03 Nov 2009 8:16 a.m. PST

I'm looking forward to Fall In, getting some of the new Perry BAL stuff including lancers and artillery and the warlord games plastic ECW cav.

Painting wise I want to paint the above and I've had a rebirth in my desire to paint 10mm ECW stuff as well. So that is a period going on in two scales.

After Fall In is over I hope to be able to play some games of Space Hulk.

lugal hdan03 Nov 2009 8:22 a.m. PST

MillenniumCon and getting some more painting done. That, and playing "Dragon Age: Origins".

TodCreasey03 Nov 2009 8:29 a.m. PST

Finally getting a Through the Mud and Blood game in in December.

Taking it easy on the painting front and just doing the odd bit when I feel like it.
This year has seen the end of me painting like a mad to get stuff done.

Getting hired…
Getting some of these college courses behind me…
Getting my truck fixed…
Getting some more figs painted…

That's about it….

Painting a lot of French artillery and finding the time to do more rebasing. I also am waiting for Republic to Empire.

I'm more looking forward to 2010; I will finally be able to play a real game with my own figures, and I'm waiting for Foundry's new early Nap Saxons range.

Are those available online anywhere? I'm basing up some toys for it, but haven't yet got round to thinking about the details of the rules.

Finishing off my 15mm Confederate Infantry Division. I've just over a hundred figs left.

This year I've had the most productive year of painting I've had for many a year. A Bavarian Division, Prussian Corps, Union Cavalry Division and Union Infantry Division all completed in 15mm this year. Some 2,000 figs finished.

Next year I'll be getting some Confederate cavalry done and playing lots.

I'll be glad to see the backside of 2009,its been a bad year between just the general bad news and illness in the family. The only thing I particularly have for the rest of this year is Christmas, and gearing up my painting for the next year.

CorroPredo03 Nov 2009 10:22 a.m. PST

2 months until I have 20 years in and am eligible to RETIRE! I probably won't (YET!) but I could.

Finishing off 40 or so 28mm Arab/Turkish cavalry + 70 Arab infantry for WAB Arab Caliphates armies.

Setting up and hopefully starting a club campaign based on the WAB Shieldwall supplement.

Basing and varnishing a few hundred 15mm Anglo-Danes and Vikings.

That will probably just about do it for 2009 :)

My orders are in for BKC II and Volley and Bayonet. The first will be a minor change in my gaming. The second should revitalize my FPW project and may start a couple of others.
