"Evil Dwarfs" Topic

I making up a unit of evil dwarfs, some are actually modeled to look evil, old Grenadier and Metal Magic but most are just standard dwarfs. Any suggestions for giving them a sinister look?

don't say give them a black undercoat I tried that and didn't like the look.

Er I hesitate to say this, and don't get the wrong idea, but I'm doing a spoof fantasy thing at the moment where I have a unit of nazi dwarfs who have a swastika flag made of four axes. It's quite effective.
Try a black undercoat, silver paint and then experiment with washes of red or green ink.

Well i guess generally dark colours have been seen as evil, so reds and blacks – and they also give great contrast with white/silver. Green/purple washes can also give sickly effects.

Persoanlly I'm a believer that evil is in what they do not how they look.

And remember killing elves is not evil… its a social duty.

paint the skins in a different shade, grey is traditional for evil dwarfs, but you could go for a 'vampirey' white with red eyes,

or a pitch black skin and yellow or red eyes,

Look for images of World of Warcraft's Dark Iron Dwarves, they are pretty evil looking.

More Cow Bells Needed

Any dwarf that has been denied drink for a while would of course have to turn "evil". Just like any halfling without food…

I just picked up the infamous black dwarf from Asgard- stooped over witha raven on his shoulder. Dude HAS to be evil. Or at least, grumpy.
