Not even listing on your site all the products you carry. Why do you have to know the Secret Doorknock to get your mitts on some stuff that a maufacturer carries? Case in point is Eureka. They can have brand new 100 Club igures on sale at Historicon, and not list them on line until next May. Another famous manufacturer of resin planes apparently has some very pretty 15mm Katyushas. Not on the site. Foundry is famous for this. "Call and ask for the RED ROOSTER. Repeat, the RED ROOSTER. Then they can allow you to buy the Marlburian British Marines
" Why? Don't they want to sell your things? Why must you prove yourself worthy before you are allowed to purchase, or even to know they exist? |

If you have to ask, you're not worthy. |

You need to be on the list; first issue you know with no mold lines for the folks that have the secret sign. After we've had our fill then the great unwashed masses can have the broken, slipped mold figures. |

As I mentioned on the Katyusha thread, I am quite sympathetic to folks who don't get everything done that they might wish to, when real-world issues get in the way. I infer that has been the case with AIM, and so I'm willing to cut some significant slack. The idea behind Eureka's club offerings seems to be to give that exclusive ring-knocker status to those who pre-order the figures, before they are made available to the hoi polloi. It's a technique. Foundry is Foundry. Deal with it. I see no reason that those who choose to do so should not make ordering just as hard as they wish. As with those who complain about Navwar: why should the owner change, just because some have moved on into the new millennium? Try having a bespoke Savile Row suit made, or a custom fly rod, and then complain about being found worthy. We are not buying Wonder Bread and Velveeta here; we're not going to the discount store in pajamas and flip-flops. We're buying luxury goods with discretionary income. Maybe Brian Ansell was on to something. Next, we should require tournament players to wear a suit and tie, as proper wargamers used to do. Allen |

"My webmaster is under indictment for treason to Earth" is not an acceptable excuse. Foundry has the 100 Club figures on sale to the unwashed at Historicon, many moons before they show up on the site. |

I was reviewing some old threads yesterday and noticed a manufacturer stating it had a line of miniatures for sale, but when I went to its website, nothing. I only had a passing interest, but I imagine that a few sales were lost because of this. I fully recognize that many people have no interest in selling products and that it's more of a hobby, but as a buyer, I do prefer an easily navigatable catalog and legible photographs. "Foundry has the 100 Club figures on sale to the unwashed at Historicon, many moons before they show up on the site." I know you meant "Eureka". And they surely constitute the unwashed. Perhaps they are elite in some other sense. Allen |

"to the discount store in pajamas and flip-flops" I have seen this, not a pretty site. I am in agreement with John on this one. |

The reality is that most gamers and artists aren't very efficient or reliable business people. I know this from years and years of dealing with figure painters. |

obviously you werent cool enough to buy them. |

I am opening a can of worms and laying myself open to a great deal of critiscism here,BUT
I visit the USA once a year at HISTORICON time, I like to show off the latest releases and try to have something new to show those people who have also made a big effort to go to the show. Call me old fashioned and naive, but I like to try and help my customers and I am excited about our new figures. We don't get them added to the web site as quickly as many customers would like, but we do try to add something new every two weeks and we are slowly working our way through the backlog. If you want to contact me at work and persaude me to bring a release forward or sell you a few figures from an up-coming line, I will try and sort something out for you if we have the production moulds made. Complaining about me on a public forum, without having tried to contact me first always seems the reverse way of going about things. Apologies that our web site isn't easily navigable and that our photos aren't very good and that is isn't a pretty site. We always like to hear from people who can offer constructive critiscism, so again please contact me at wor and give me your suggestions. I try as hard as I can, but we cannot please all the people all the time. Nic EUREKA MINIATURES |

Well
. It wasn't a complaint so much as wondering why it took so long. OK, OK
It was a complaint, brought about by something else. I'll make up for it
I'll buy some Saxon saxophones at Fall-In. All I am really saying is that if we actually KNEW they were there, we would buy them! Consider it a tribute to a quality product that I would buy things if I knew they existed. |

I know who you are talking about Steve, because I did the same thing. Lot's of stuff on the site, but nothing regarding the minis that were being presented on TMP. |
