Hello, It was announced by Italeri/Nexus games that a new 'shiny' version of their Operation World War 2 rule set was due out in June this year. This was to be followed by figure sets by Italeri. Since that announcement in February, I've heard nothing.Anyone know the situation with this? Cheers |

Well, after releasing Operation:Overlord 2nd ed. and the vehicle book it kinda withered on the vine. I heard rumors that Pegasus Hobbies (in Montclair, California) was going to pick up the rights from Italeri to support their extensive 1/72 line of figures but nothing came of it. Too bad. |

So the book by Nexus games never made it to the publisher? There seems to have been no announcement about this anywhere and the Nexus site is Italian so can't find my way around it. Just seems strange for such a grand announcement to amount to nothing. |

I was also wondering about this as I liked the idea of the themed 1/72 scale sets to be released after the main rules. What a shame :( |

I gether there was a disagreement between the author and Nexus. The italian version of the rules had been typset and were ready to go so these have been released as a PDF on the game website and a limited run of printed books have been made. The author is currently typesetting the english version himself and it will be released when he's finished. I believe that he's going to go ahead with the scenario packs as well. |

be patient and you will have a great surprise soon. The Italian book is outstanding and I get in hands the first supplement (a scenario book) on Belin 1945. English versions are on the way :-) |

Yup.. with a bit of luck there´s some good news soon on this one. The English version is sitting on my PC here and will be typeset very soon indeed. Keep some space on your Xmas wish-list

Hi helmet101 You can purchase them at Caliver Books. The author has also released Operation Squad which is similar but max size of game is one squad per side. Cheers GReg |

I wrote the rule set Squad with Massimo and I can confirm that the problem was the relationship between him and Nexus. So he decided to publish them selves and sign an agreement with Caliver for an English version. For market reason this version (the english) is also for 28mm but the game was written for 1/72. The games are similar (with the possibility to react) but in OWWII you use Order card with a priority number, in Squad you use d6. |
