Insane, but cool

so its a simulation of a model train. not really a model train at all.
I was more impressed before they exposed how it was done.

Z scale is 1:220, so about 7mm scale?

Well, to be picky, it is not really a model train but I don't care at all because it is completely bonkers- and a very clever idea. Full marks!

Isn't a model train itself a mere simulation? Unless you're using itty-bitty steam engines, aren't you just providing a visual representation of the real thing? These guys just moved the electric motor from the locomotive to the 'table'.

It's not a "train" unless it runs on tracks. Actual model trains work essentially the same way as the real thing, just scaled down. This micro-model simply looks like a model train, without actually being one.

Still bloody impressive though, great idea, and clever execution.

Playmobil have had miniatures for their miniatures for a while now. The boxes for the Playmobil Micro line shows the regular size Playmobil people playing with the Playmobil Micro toys.
