Games Workshop released a game called "Space Marine Assault" in 2003. Does anyone have any information about the rules? BoardgameGeek has an entry for it but very little in the way of information. link Any info or leads would be appreciated! Thanks much! |

I believe this was part of the GW phase to do entry level games to help bring in new players. Basically a very simple ruleset based on WH40K with a few minis and some paint. Not really so much a game as an introduction to the hobby at a low price point. Jeff |

I think I may still have the remnants of this set. I got it cheap. I think less than $8. USD A good deal as I am still using the paint brush. |

What is the paint brush made of? My brushes last about 6 weeks and are done. I do use the el cheapo brand from discount stores so that is probably my problem. |

I bought one at a Borders book store that was offloading it's GW product a few years ago. Had I think 5 Marines and maybe 5 or so Stealers, plus a brush and some sample paints. Still have the tray and paints, never used those. |

One of the pictures on the boardgamegeek link has the rules in one of the player submitted pictures.Bit small, though my old eyes strained a little but managed to read all the bits.Looks to be nice and simple good for a quick few battles during lunchbreak. Edit ImageID: 150531 |

Thanks for all the answers. On the Boardgamegeek site it has a scan of the quick reference play sheet: link and if you click on the image size choices above the picture, you can enlarge it to something very legible. |

I have the book which I have not looked at until now. I must have trashed the box as I can't find it. I don't know what the brush is made of but I think it is the very same quality as GW's other brushes. That brush could do it all though now it is very worn. The paint was very thick so I mixed them in with other paints. |

I believe that was GW's "Starter Brush", which also came in their starter paint sets. Best brush I ever owned – for some reason none of the other GW brushes performed as well for me. |

Funny you should say that McWong – I still have and use that same brush. |

I love GW brushes in general, and their Starter Brush in particular. I have several, and they are my workhorse brush. |

Cool, never heard of this before, it is like a Basic 40k / Spacehulk kind of cross over. |
