Reading Richard Barber's thread TMP link prompted me to ask why no 15mm US troops in Montana hats?

With all of the obsure wars and armies that get covered by 15mm ranges why does the 1916-1918 US Army on the Mexican border never get the range it deserves

I know Minifigs do a pack of US troops in Montana hats but they are in a marching pose and whilst they look great for the 'Over There' parade, they do look a tad out of place chasing Villa around northern Mexico

I've tried headswaps using Peter Pigs' heads (8. US Doughboy hat) and various bodies , the SCW Spanish Foreign Legion, 1914 British cavalry and Romans for example but they don't look quite right

Come on you 15mm manufacturers surely the 1916-18 US army on the Mexican border must be THE obsure army for 2010

Using Peter Pig's packing model as an example 3 packs would cover the range

Pack 1 – 8 infantry/dismounted cavalry in 2/3 poses with rifles or pistols

Pack 2 – 4 cavalry in 2/3 poses with rifles or pistols

Pack 3 – 1 mg + 2 crew, 2 officer, 2 gun crew

I promise to buy at least 1 pack of each if they are ever produced

Yeah, but I think they should fill out the WW1 AEF ranges before they go do the Punitive expedition…

There is a cavalry man in Eureka's WWII US cavalry range who is wearing a Montana hat and has a M1911 pistol:

He has a mounted varient too:

Maybe a Eureka 300 request?

Minifigs had USA troops in this headgear in the WW1 15mm range.

Will the Pig's heads not fit onto the tin-hatted Minif-figs figures? I have lots of non-US Peter Pig and Minifig WW1 and would have thought it was a likely option.

The MiniFigs are 15mm. The ones I have are as RPS describes in his original post – marching, wearing an overcoat, and carrying a rather large pack. Mine are still not painted. grin
