Can anyone suggest a good 28mm standing horse that could be used to represent dismounted Cossacks mounts..? Cheers, Geoff |

The tack may not be right, but I would imagine plastics would be your most cost-effective solution. Who makes 'standing' plastic cavalry? |

Front Rank make standing horses for dismounted dragoons in their WSS range. Not sure if the saddle and horse furniture would be what your looking for. |

Ebob does lovely horses. But they're generally 'naked' so you probably don't want them. Of course, you could use putty and put the right tack on them. |

Castaway has some that would work nicely, and sold individually to boot!. |

Eureka has dismounted horse holder vignettes in the Seven Years' War Saxon range, hussars and chevaulegers (think dragoons). Write for the list. You can see the hussar dismounts on the 14 October posting here: link Bon chance, Bill |

I picked up a "toob" of toy plastic horses that I am using for 28mm D&D dismounts: link There were 10 in one tube I bought, 12 in the other. The larger horses seem to match the GW 28mm horses; the smaller are well, smaller, more like 25mm horses I guess. There's no harness or tack, so if you want that you'd need to paint or model it on, and of course, the running poses might not work for you. |
