I am rebasing some figures for Cold War Commander (6mm) for the Arab Israeli conflicts. I am currently working on my Israeli forces.

I am about to base up some CO, HQ, FAO and FAC stands – any suggestions or examples of what other people have done?

For generic stands that could be useful for a couple of the conflicts (67,73,82) I am thinking of using trucks, M3s and M113s, maybe with a few dismount figures on each base.

But I always like looking at what other people have done.

Thats exactly what I do.

For HQs for a tank unit, I would put a tank on a round base with maybe a few dismounts or a supply truck next to it. For COs I tend to put them on a larger base and have a command vehicle or jeep and dismounted infantry etc.

Have a look through my blog to see what I have done if that helps.

Hi Chuck,

Here are some samples of what I did with my Israelis:

I am thinking of simulating 2006+ engagements. It is a bit more modern than what you intend to do.

on a more practical note, it's only good manners to make sure your opponent can easily tell which is your CO, which are HQ and in particular which are FAO and FAC etc. Use different sized and shaped bases for each, and make it clear to them at the start of the game.
