Hi,

I am curently putting together some posses using Black Scorpion minis i picked up a while ago.

The idea is to make 4 different posses each of around 6-7 figures so i have some variety (and enough for up to 4 players)

So using the basic rule book i can make Outlaws and Lawmen posses with no problems.

But i would like to also make a Mexican posse and a "women of ill repute" posse as Scorpion do some great figures that fit these types. (and cos my daughter would like a girly posse….)

I guess i could use the Outlaw posse stats for the Mexicans at a pinch but i have no idea what to do about the female posse !

Are there any sites or forums with unofficial examples of posses ?

or does anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?

ps i found it very annoying that the rulebook only has stats for 3 posses – cowboys, outlaws and lawmen – thats very poor considering the cost of the rules. I do not particularly want to get any supplements just yet unless any are highly recommended.

Bandidos are exactly like Outlaws but have to field peons instead of rowdies, & can also field wranglers like the Cowboys. peons have low morale & a shootin' score of 6 & are limited to musket, flintlock rifle or handweapon.

As for girls- the supplements won't help you there. We field variants of artizan's Eliza Stone as a kid or a greenhorn.

You may not want any of the supplements, but they can help with this very issue.

The Alamo supplement includes three new possees: Mountain Men, Comancheroes and Mexican Bandidos. So this supplement alone will double the number of possees you can form up.

Frontier adds one posse – Texas Rangers (in addition to a bunch of US troopers and Indian tribes).

The gals can be any posse really since it's going to be a-historical anyway. Outlaws might suit them, but perhaps the Texas Rangers would be very cool.

Blood on the Plains is necessary. Alamo is nice. Showdown is also nice to have. I have all 4 books and enjoy them. Oddly this week I got a chance to see and tour the actual Alamo while in San Antonio for a trade show.

The best way to figure out posse composition is to play a few games. You can find example possees on the web but you won't know how to fight with them properly. The best way to figure out the strategy is to find some people to play with and try some out. It is more than just a trade off of Volume of Fire for Quality of Fire.

Also, horses are very useful. High speed + occasional ammo sponge make them worth the cost!
