Where can I found out more about this game and who sells it? I have heard it mentioned as a good rule set but can not find it on the web.

Hold on…Is BoF a skirmish game? I am not looking for skirmish rules so I might be barking up the wrong tree. I am looking for a 1 stand = 1 squad or fire team and 1 Vehicle = 1 Vehicle set of rules.

I know that this used to be available from Gordon at TFP games. He's a really stand up gent. He went way above and beyond for me.

Here is what I found at Boardgame Geek.

From the publisher's Website

"Baptism of Fire II, BoF II, is a complete revision and overhaul of the original ‘Baptism of Fire' (BoF) and ‘Wild Fire' (WF) miniature wargames. The result will seem familiar to players of these first games, but in many of the mechanisms and details there has been change.

The changes have made for standardized systems, which are both easy to teach and remember in play. The text is clearer with more and better examples. It has also been organized by a group of players like yourself, so hopefully finding information in a hurry will be easier.

BoF II continues as a leading miniature skirmish game, for games of Squads up to reinforced Platoon level from WW2 to present day. It includes rules for all manner of infantry and vehicle operations. There are additional optional rules to further enhance the gaming experience.

The rules are aimed to create as authentic a battlefield experience as possible, players are encouraged to utilize real life battlefield strategies and tactics as these will give great success.

BoF II continues using a similar system as Baptism of Fire and Wild Fire to create a highly interactive, unpredictable, yet the player can try and exert a degree of control and planning to implement his strategies and tactics".

I don't think they are still in print. You should probably take a look at his Leader of Men WWII rules.

Thanks John. I had been to TFP games website and didn't see it mentioned, so you may be right that it is out of print. I think I am looking for a slightly higher scale, more along the lines for a company or two, not skirmish.

Hi Buzzkill,

BoF2 was indeed skirmish.

We have 'A Leader of Men' which is set at company level with troops based in Fireteams/Squads. It plays a very intense game like you will get nowhere else.

In the meantime I am working on the final details of 'Baptism of Fire 3' which is shaping up to play games like no other skirmish game I have ever seen.

Regards,

G
