Hi guys,

I recently posted an article asking about good manufacturers of 15mm Zulu wars miniatures. After a great response and some really good reccomendations I am now almost ready to start placing orders.

One thing I am stuck with is mixing of manufacturers on the same base; With Zulu's I imagine it will be easy to mix figures from several manufacturers on the same base with out it looking odd but not sure how that will look with the British figures. Does anyone have example photo's or know of a comparison site for 15mm British colonials? The manufacturers I am interested in comparing are; Peter pig, Essex, Old glory and Stone mountain.

Thanks for your help.

Chris

Be wary about Essex cavalry near Peter Pig cavalry

Thanks for the heads up Jeremy. I was actually thinking of sticking to just Peter pig for the cavalry as I prefer thier casts so with your comments in mind will go ahead with that.

As mentioned I would really like to be able to mix up the infantry for as much variation as possbile with out it looking silly. Do you know how Peter pig and Essex infantry mix?

Cheers

Old Glory and Essex mix very well. Not sure about Peter Pig or Stone Mountain.

PP and Essex go together OK, but IMHO the latter look a little "flat" and not as nicely animated as the Peter Pig models.

Thanks for all the input. Judging by everyones comments, Old Glory, PP and Essex should mix well enough it's just the stone mountain figures that are the wild card.

Anyone mixed Stone mountain with any of the previously mentioned ranges?

Cheers

Chris

Stone Mountain British are similar size and heft as PP. They have some uniform differences and I'm noit sure the SM figures have the most accurate uniforms. They have less kit on compared to the PP. The natives are very much different sculpt style. For my Dervish, I mix Naismith, Stone Mountain, Essex and Peter Pig. My British will have a more orderly appearance and will probably less diverse.
