I can't wait till I get off work today! The wife has been cleaning the AK-47s all day and when I get home we are going to go shoot up the neighborhood! This is the first year my daughter gets to go with us.. she turned 7 in August and she is pretty excited. I KNOW what your thinking, but its ok, we are only letting her carry the 9mm pistol. Woot! Have fun! |
| Griefbringer | 22 Oct 2009 5:00 a.m. PST |
Wouldn't it be better to enjoy a traditional Bongolesian crocodile barbeque instead? |
| Martin Rapier | 22 Oct 2009 5:38 a.m. PST |
Happy Independance Day. So why haven't the BBC got a Bongolesian quiz going then? |
| Mooseworks8 | 22 Oct 2009 5:45 a.m. PST |
I'm going to bust a few caps tonight at 6 straight! After that we have the traditional banana stomp followed by the steal your neighbors chicken and eat it meal. |
| Sloppypainter | 22 Oct 2009 5:56 a.m. PST |
Ahhhhhhhhhh
yes, the smell of gunpowder, the roar of the AK, the howls of delight as the spent ammo rains to Earth..<snif>
kinda brings a tear to my eye. Fireworks!? Bah. Use live 105mm HE to light up the sky
now THAT'S a real show. |
| Baggy Sausage | 22 Oct 2009 6:10 a.m. PST |
What on Earth am I doing at work on this wonderful holiday? |
| John Adkins WV | 22 Oct 2009 6:11 a.m. PST |
Happy Independence Day Bongolesia! Your government is an inspiration to us all! |
| Fifty4 | 22 Oct 2009 6:19 a.m. PST |
How many people are killed or injured by AK rounds falling out of the sky on this day? |
| GeoffQRF | 22 Oct 2009 6:31 a.m. PST |
How many people are killed or injured by AK rounds falling out of the sky on this day? I always wondered about that during air-to-air conflicts
after all, all those 20mm rounds that miss the target will decelerate, then start to drop, then accelerate, and that is going to hurt if it hits you. |
M1Fanboy | 22 Oct 2009 6:47 a.m. PST |
Cool, the wife and I have the RPG and the T-55 warmed up
we're going to make quite the splash tonight! |
| boggler | 22 Oct 2009 6:54 a.m. PST |
Is it 'Talk like a Bongolesian Day' too? |
| adub74 | 22 Oct 2009 7:35 a.m. PST |
"hurt if it hits" Terminal velocity of bullets isn't that fast. 2-3 hundred miles per hour. Hurt yes, kill maybe but unlikely. Put anything in its way, like the roof of your house or car, and you're pretty safe. |
| Ambush Alley Games | 22 Oct 2009 7:52 a.m. PST |
Bongolesia! One independence day a year surely isn't enough for shining beacon on the hill like Bongolesia! Still, here's a glass of sweet, sweet banana beer to Bongolesia! |
Mal Wright | 22 Oct 2009 7:52 a.m. PST |
followed by the steal your neighbors chicken and eat it meal. Will the chickens be eaten raw or are they going to cook them this year? |
| xxxxxxxxooooo | 22 Oct 2009 8:04 a.m. PST |
How do we tell if it's a celebration or just the most recent attempted coup?
or is there any difference? |
| Darby E | 22 Oct 2009 8:21 a.m. PST |
It's all in the party hats. If they're wearing festive looking hats, it's a coup! |
| Ed the Two Hour Wargames guy | 22 Oct 2009 8:41 a.m. PST |
My family honors it by a trip to Las Vegas! |
M1Fanboy | 22 Oct 2009 8:48 a.m. PST |
<blockquote>Bongolesia! One independence day a year surely isn't enough for shining beacon on the hill like Bongolesia! Still, here's a glass of sweet, sweet banana beer to Bongolesia!</blockquote> Now with less ground glass! |
| Mlatch221 | 22 Oct 2009 9:23 a.m. PST |
Hmmm
I've gotta look up some of those recipes Murphy sent me because tonight, we're gonna party like it's 1988! At any rate, The People and The Beloved Leader of The Caelian Centralist Democratic Republic send our best wishes and congratulations to His Excellency President For Life B'wonah and The People of the Republic Of Bongolesia on this, the 49th anniversary of the day the legitimate People's Revolution over-threw the colonial imperialist lap dog lackeys and freed The People of Bongolesia. |
| Goober | 22 Oct 2009 9:31 a.m. PST |
Peoples in Kerplunkistan is being happy now! Yes! Bongolesia many happy years now! Keplunkistan say "Many happy years being under Beloved Leader" |
| Griefbringer | 22 Oct 2009 10:30 a.m. PST |
Will the chickens be eaten raw or are they going to cook them this year? You are supposed to eat the chicken and not the neighbour? |
| Top Gun Ace | 22 Oct 2009 10:57 a.m. PST |
Ah, the joys of firing off a clip, or three into the air to celebrate the day
Nothing quite like that. |
| Rebel Minis | 22 Oct 2009 11:47 a.m. PST |
I just got some great news! My wife got the technical, I mean 4x4, up and running! WOOT! 4 hours til party time! |
| TimHerr | 22 Oct 2009 12:35 p.m. PST |
Happy Independence Day, Bongolesians! Please don't shoot up my neighborhood. |
| CPT Jake | 22 Oct 2009 3:26 p.m. PST |
Well with 7.62 NATO as expesive as it is, my family is having to scale back our celebration. |
| Top Gun Ace | 22 Oct 2009 6:24 p.m. PST |
Well with 7.62 NATO as expesive as it is, my family is having to scale back our celebration. The Comm. bloc rounds are much cheaper, since they are so ubiquitous on the African continent
.. Plus, if you don't carry Bongolesian dollars, you can use them as legal tender in the country. |
| Top Gun Ace | 23 Oct 2009 3:01 a.m. PST |
Wow, you must be rich! That's worth $400 USD Bongo dollars, or roughly $4.00 USD American
.. |
| Martin Rapier | 23 Oct 2009 3:08 a.m. PST |
Everyone survived the nights festivities then? |
| CPT Jake | 23 Oct 2009 4:26 a.m. PST |
"The Comm. bloc rounds are much cheaper, since they are so ubiquitous on the African continent
.." We never went the popular 'keep up with the Jonses' AK route, we stick with the FN FAL in our household. |
| drummer | 23 Oct 2009 4:51 a.m. PST |
So is Bonglesian Independence celebrated every 22 October? Or is it always the 4th Thursday of October or something like that? Or does some government office decide each year? What day should we mark down for next year? |
| Fatman | 23 Oct 2009 9:14 a.m. PST |
Aaaaaaaaaaaargh, post Independence day hangover. Plus does anyone have a tip for getting peices of neighbour out from between your teeth? Fatman |
| Griefbringer | 23 Oct 2009 10:04 a.m. PST |
So is Bonglesian Independence celebrated every 22 October? Or is it always the 4th Thursday of October or something like that? Or does some government office decide each year? To my knowledge, the president's personal astrologist usually determines it by appropriate consulting of the stars and banana liquor. Plus does anyone have a tip for getting peices of neighbour out from between your teeth? Do you have a bayonet for your Kalashnikov? |
| Dwarf King | 23 Oct 2009 12:10 p.m. PST |
Aaaaaaaaaaaargh, post Independence day hangover. You mean it's over? It's the 23rd? You sure? There's still plenty of Banana Beer left to be drank! |
| Martin Rapier | 23 Oct 2009 2:16 p.m. PST |
" FN FAL " A step in the right direction, but we only use the L1A1 SLR. Accept no substitutes. With wooden furniture naturally (except mine, which is chrome plated). |
| Russian Bear | 23 Oct 2009 7:57 p.m. PST |
October 22 is also Independence Day for Mali and Laos from France. |
| Russian Bear | 23 Oct 2009 8:49 p.m. PST |
I don't know. I think Mali and Bongolesia have allot in common. |
| Griefbringer | 24 Oct 2009 3:40 a.m. PST |
I thought Bongolesia was actually hotter
or is it just the Bongolesian women that are so? |
| Gaz0045 | 24 Oct 2009 3:57 a.m. PST |
"I thought Bongolesia was actually hotter
or is it just the Bongolesian women that are so?" -directly proportional to the amount of banana beer consumed
|
