I did a breakdown of the box contents for this kit for those who are interested in what you actually get when you buy one of these (like me!)

I have a few more Tamiya kits I plan on reviewing shortly.

Thanks! I have been curious about this set. I always put the box back on the shelf as the box art let me to believe that there was very little in the box.
Any chance you could post a photo or two with some minis so we can get a better idea of the set's compatibility?

Thank you! That is so helpful.

I've been looking at this very set for nearly a year at a local hobby store. Now I can justify buying it.

I've had several requests for minis included for size comparison. I will certainly do this as soon as I have a chance.

Looks exactly like the 1/35 scale set I got years ago, just scaled down to 1/48. Then again thats not very tough to do from a master! Nice review to have so I know exactly what I am getting in the box.

That's an extremely helpful review!

I too was hesitant in picking up this box, because the contents implied on the box art didn't seem to justify the cost.

Now that I know better, I just might pick one up! grin

Its a very useful set

The wall part can make a ruined building as you can see if you follow this link where you can see it alongside 1/48th scale figs

or this one for a top down view along side some grand manner buildings and vehicles(scroll to the bottom picture for the best view)

The odd pieces of brick were made from plastic rod and some of the sandbags have also been used.
Yes we sell the set online if you don't have a hobby store nearby

very helpful thanks…just wondered if there had been a review done on the Tamiya 1/48 Jerry Can set??

klingsor06 Nov 2009 5:01 a.m. PST

The jerry cans and oil drums are pretty much the same as the 1/35th scale ones but scaled down in the same way the sandbags set was. Very useful.
