I'm just curious if anybody as ever used old Chia Pets as scenery for war gaming? Some things that come to mind are old statues of evil alien dictators, Cthulhu statues, etc?

I don't know.

Weird stuff indeed:

Foliage you can believe in.

Thomas,

Look at what Dropship Horizon did with a different statue/bust/head:

If I had such a thing on my gaming table, I would feel tempted to call it . . .

I was thinking maybe the Shrek one or maybe one of the animal ones broken in half and placed as if half buried.

As for that last one, I think we can stand together as a nation – right, left, and center – and universally ask, "What the?" Other then that, I'll say no more.

The Dropship Horizon idea is a good one. One of those things that I would say, "I can carve 'that' out of foam." And then fail totally at it.

Thomas,

If Dropship Mark and Matakishi can make wargame table artifacts with heads and faces, why can't we? Right? :)

This would make a cool statue of an alien face, wouldn't it?

Wow, the timing of this is just plain weird.
At last Friday's club game we were talking about chia terrain. But, we were talking about growing chia sprouts on some kind of flat surface to use as fields.

CC,

Those candy face molds look like the one face on Mars. Good find.

Duncan,

Having had one, Chia surfaces are porus terracotta like clay with ridges. My best guess for you would be try some thin sponges.

Only if you are tacky enough.
