Guys -
I have an old set of Redoubt's 28mm Rourke's Drift buildings I bought years ago and am just now starting to work on them. Problem is this – I seem to be short mealie bags for the perimeter but I'm not sure.

If anyone has this set, would you mind telling me how many mealie bags, ammo boxes and wagons came with your set?

I have sent an email to Redoubt but got impatient and thought one of you would be able to tell me quicker.

Thanks,

Kimball

Hi
Would it be worth taking a look on their website it doesn't say how many you should have but there is a picture of the set with the buildings and wagons in it so you may be able to see if you have the correct number. It maye that the 2 wagons supplied are supposed to take up some of the area.

If you are short the prepainted sandbag walls from pegasus will fill in nicely for 28mm.

Guys -

I have looked at Redoubt's website but the pictures do not cover the entire area and I can't make out the mealie bags and biscuit boxes very well. Their email suggested the same. I had hoped they would check one of their sets and let me know.

Yep, several of my pubs show that the wagons do go into the wall so that will help.

I was going thru all my old publications and found a line drawing of the old advertisement from Miniature Service Center that might help.

Leidang, I will try to pull up pegasus and see what walls you are talking about. Thanks for the info.

I have the Redoubt set and yes, they are lacking one half to two thirds of the mealie bags required to fill out the perimeter. I used another company's (pre-Pegasus) to fill them out. They are also missing the cattle kraal, unless you cut those very low walls they include in half to make up the four sides.

Thanks Nick. I checked out Pegasus and found Italeri 1/35 sandbags listed. Sent a message off to the Italeri folks asking for the dimensions and how many were in the box. At $13.00 USD a box, it didn't look like there were very many. I think I will just make some mealie bags out of modeling clay, bake them and use them. What brand did you end up with?

Thanks, Nick, I haven't used Armorcast before. Looks like some good stuff. A wargamer can never have too many walls.

I did an exhaustive search for sandbags online. I've ordered most and Ellen's or whatever, some German guy mays a nice set, but for bulk there is one manufacture where you get like a dozen little sections for one price, real good deal.

Just look at my notes I noted when they made sandbags as I too need a lot, of course air dry clay is pretty easy to do too.
