Not sure this was 'newsworthy' enough so I hope no-one objects to me posting this here rather than pestering Bill with it :-) I just thought that folks might like to take a look at the first few preview items for the set of WWII Skirmish rules that are coming in December. I'll be adding more to the site each week up until the release date. link The rules have been playtested over the last year or so and have been through quite a few versions before settling on one that – I think – has the best balance of fun, playability and realism. I'll do my best to put as much info on the web site as I can so that you can see what you are getting! As always any comments or suggestions are welcome. Mark@crusaderpublishing.com |

These look interesting, you should try posting a free "test drive" version |

Thanks for the update, Mark. I'm sure I'll be ordering a copy, and it's good to know you're adding an armor supplement by popular demand. ps-any plans to add to your 28mm WWII lines? |

Look forward to seeing how they have ended up. Interested to see if the simultaneous firing etc (which no one has managed to do well, since the early NUTS days) works well as often it clogs the game up as things react to new targets etc. Always makes sense, few rules have pulled it off
good luck. Rich J |

I've posted a PDF of the contents page on the site as well so folks can see what is actually in the rules. I dont plan to do a 'lite' version of the rules but I hope there will be more than enough information on the site to let people know how the game works. A small example running through a few turns should be up this weekend and if I can get it tidied up a rough fast play sheet. I dont have any plans to expand the WWII lines at the moment but I'm in the middle of another range at the moment. I am working on some more boxed sets and I hope these will all be out at the same time as the rules. As for the firing game mechannics we've had no problems with them at all. In fact the turn order is very similar (and based on) Rank and File except that the firing phase is broken into stationary and moving fire. Its turned out very 'smooth' – for want of a better description. |

Any idea when to expect the armor book? |

The plan is to do the AFV supplement as a free PDF while they are still test rules. This should be up on the web site at the same time that the main rules are released. Once I'm happy with the AFV rules they will be released as a proper supplement. Then I plan to do the same with the Action and Event cards. Well, thats the plan anyway :-) |
