While its fun to laugh at online daters, I have one sister and a whole mess of friends that it worked wonders for, they're in successful relationships with people they never would have met otherwise.

That being said I met my wife the old fashioned way, drinking absinthe on Halloween in college.

"While its fun to laugh at online daters,"

Nothing wrong with online dating per se, it was online dating in the context of an online gaming store (RPGNow) that was so strange … !

While its fun to laugh at online daters,

I'm laughing at the product.

If you were drinking absinthe are you sure she is the one you were drinking it with?

Met my (now) wife through yahoo personals back in 2003. We dated for 21/2 years engaged for 16 months and now just celebrated our 2 year anniversary in late september and our little boy's one year birthday in early september.

Guess it works for some. ;P

On line dating? Pah. I met my wife through a newspaper add before on line dating. Yesterday was our 12th anniversary.

I clicked on the link and I'm not sure I get it. Is it just a bizarre way to sell copper D20s?

As far as online dating, I never did it formally (although a couple of times I did successfully date someone I met online). However my wife did it a bit and stayed friends with one of her old boyfriends and his roommate … who later became my roommate which is how I met her, because he invited her to one of our parties.

I met a long string of desperate Russian-born Single Mothers through online dating ten years back. None of them were interested in me, they were looking for a meal ticket. Disappointing.

My sister met her significant other through an on-line dating service. So, it works for some folks. Still, I'm glad I met my wife live and in person, 20 years ago when i worked at a used book shop. Still going strong too. 8^D

You should try OkCupid.com It's a lot of fun just for the personality tests alone. A funny aside, according to the match profiles, S.O. and I are a less than 70 0/0 match.
A little late to let us know that I think.
