Got an email from Renegade that they now have the ACW range available as regiments!

Been waiting since January for this lol.
The very slightly bad news is that they are at the new GBP13.95 price not GBP11.95 (the other ranges are still 11.95 for the next couple of days).

ACWR09 CAVALRY REGIMENT PISTOLS

Yes I bought some. Even at the new price they are still cheap. Whether they are compatible, size-wise, with my Perry plastics is another matter.

To many, Renegades are not totally compatible with anything else, because of their size and scale. They are quite good all by themselves with a good batch to choose from. Personally I don't like to mix them up with other lines, but that is just me!

Please elaborate. Their site says they are 28mm. Of course, that rarely means anything now days.

Are they small for their "scale" or tall, or too chunky, etc?

FireZouave10 Oct 2009 1:30 a.m. PST

They are large compared to other manufacturers, but I like them. They are tall, but not too thick, just big overall. When they are not next to other figures, they look fine. I don't have a problem with their size but I know some people do.

They didn't use to be so large until Sash and Saber came about and the 2nd editon Old Glory which scaled down in size also.

Agree with FireZouave, they are big and chunky, just the way god meant 28's to be and i like them like that.

Try to imagine a "normal" guy and next to him a NFL tight end or big wide receiver! Some overstatement there but close! They are substantial castings, and if they were all I could get for an ACW project I would not mind. I think the line that mixes best is Redoubt, but that would be your call!!
