Very nice indeed! Um – how can we tell the Ekdromoi are 'younger Spartans'? You should have shaved down the beards to the fuzzy-faced teenage look. I'll deduct a point for that bit of laziness on your part :) |

Hi MJS, well every manufacturer seems to do Spartans as grizzly veterans. I was pleased to come across the two figures in the unit that are clean shaven and look youthful! The others in the unit are young as well, they just LOOK older because of their beards. ;-) Cheers, Simon |

You know, ordinarily I couldn't care less about this era, but man, those guys look GREAT. Almost makes me want to buy some! |

Lord A, you had better paint those 2000 Renegade Romans and Carthos, first! ;-) Simon |

Great looking figures! Does anyone know how the Foundry & Gorgon figures match up against each other height wise ? |
BigRedBat | 09 Oct 2009 11:30 a.m. PST |
They are pretty well exactly the same size (same sculptor after all); scroll down this thread:- link Thanks guys! Cheers, Simon |

Very nice, but are the eyes all white? It makes them look a tad rabid (allthough this is not necessarily a bad thing with Spartans)
|
BigRedBat | 10 Oct 2009 4:05 a.m. PST |
I agree Pijlie; I'm planning to dot in some irises at some stage. Simon |

Agreed: the white eyes make them look like zombies! Excellent work though. I really like how the characters have their names engraved in their bases. |

Re the names, I started off inscribing them in English but only more recently hit upon the splendid idea of using the original classical Greek. TThey are, therefore, a mixture. I may redo the English ones at some stage
Thanks, Simon |

Zombie Spartans! "Stranger, go tell the Spartans that you saw us shambling here still eating the brains of their enemies according to their laws
" |
BigRedBat | 16 Oct 2009 2:12 a.m. PST |
It would also explain their "Tonight we dine in Hell" quotation. ;-) Simon |
