I've been thinking about a good way to make some paved roads – cobbles, concrete and asphalt. Has anyone tried just printing labels and affixing them to something like sheet rubber so they will lay flat? You could just use images like these: picture picture |

Ultra-fine sandpaper is a good stand-in for a dirt road, but for asphalt, you can't beat roofing felt, aka tar paper. But, if you're hooked on printed textures, large, free files are here: mayang.com/textures Wyatt |

I've been using cheap rubber car floor mats from a Dollar Store. They have a texture-like pattern on them that works very well. |

You'd need to find an adhesive that didn't cause the rubber to curl, which could be tricky. |

I wonder if one could find adhesive contact paper, the kind that busy home-makers line kitchen shelves, in a pattern that would suit. Cut it out into the proper shapes and stick directly to your table cover? Discard after use? Jim |
