I am working on a British Home Defense Force to combat the invading Martians in a War of the Worlds HotT game. I have decided on going with the early WWI uniform for the British, i.e. the khaki dress and soft peaked cap. This being the case, my artillery element will be a 13/18 pounder and I am trying to decide whether to paint teh artillery piece, bronze green or khaki green. I know both were valid color schemes for the war years, but am not sure which would be most appropriate for a 1904-08 time period. Anyone with more knowledge have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, Terry |

I should think whatever you like best. There seem to be few who can comfirm or deny either scheme. |

Thank you vstaogames for your reply. I believe I have found something on it more finite, and funny thing is, it was something I had read numerous times before and missed. On the Landship website, an excellent reference for WWI, it discusses the two schemes I was asking about. It turns out that the khaki green color was used at the turn of the century up through the war, while the bronze green was only adopted after the war started. Therefore, since my Home Defense Force for fighting these Martian invaders is based on the 1904-08 time frame then I am obliged to go with the khaki green scheme. Here's a link to the Landship site link Thank you again, Terry |
