ok got in my SS minis today. I had ordered all three factions . Russian , japaness, British.
Here is a quick review.
First off all the designs are fantastic.
RUSSIANS: Castings are by Reaper , so they are well done and are clean . the only thing i find is out of 7 models only one is straight.all of the other 6 are bent or twisted just a bit.all were easy to striaighten , but be careful not to break them. looks to me that when the models were bent or twisted after casting , this is not a mold or casting issue. more likely happen either removing it it from the mold or once thrown into a bend. so I would not be worried about a bad casting.
Japaness:
My favorite of the designs. Clean , with a tiny bit a heat texture on larger model , nothing to worry about. Out of 11 models only one ship had the wings just a bit twisted to turn the engines down. but agian easy fix , just ajusted them back. can't wait to paint these babys.
British:
ok this set comes with a large 6 part battleship , so more to build here. parts have a tiny seam on them and two of the center parts or bent back a bit , i believe for the same reasons as above. Same for the rear engines ,some bent , easy to fix.
Bases: all models have 1 inch Hex slotted plastic bases.
All in All i have waited mouth watering for these and i am very happy with them . well worth the wait and the price.
The designs and size work well for any of the exsiting game engines. FT , starmada, B5 ,or just cool desk top models.
