All,
As the subject line says, how do these ranges match up with each other? Specifically, I am looking at the newer Mongrel African releases, the TAG Vietnam figures and the Britannia Congo range.

I picked up a bunch of the Britannia Congo range from Wargames at Historicon (in fact all the range).

I then picked up a bunch of Mongrel Miniatures African figures. They mix prefrectly.

The other thing I picked up from the guys who were selling the Mongrel figures is the village huts on stilts. Really great building line.

Hi, although this doesn't really hit all the manufacturers you're interested in, it does give a good comparison of a variety of figures. It has a visual comparison & a review of the figures.

Also, there used to be an excellent webpage that did comparisons of all the modern 28mm manufacturers, but the owner has since taken it down. I did extract the page into a word doc that I can send to you if you want to give me your email.

Thanks for the offer, I am familiar with that site. I think that most of the Mongrel stuff has been re-done since it was up and running.

I have a large collection of the Britannia Congo figs and picked up some of the new Mongrel line at Cold Wars. I personally do not think they mix well. See the attached picture. Mongrel on the left.

Both shown are on the same size base. The Mongrel figs are excellent. They fit better with other lines that I have used for Simbas and Gendarmes. However I have too many Britannia to switch now. I would get some actual Gendarmes if they do them, instead of using WW2 figs.

Mongrel staff say they will be making some Simbas from the 1960's soon. The current Africans are more late 20th century.

Bob,
Do you have any Assault Group figures to compare the Mongrel figs to?

I have some of the TAG African militia so will take a comparison pic and post tonight.

Out of interest who exactly at Mongrel said that? From my experience there is a deafening wall of silence when it comes to anything new that may or may not be released in the future. There is a thread on the Consumer Board regarding this at the moment.
