I was fortunate enough, along with some of my fellow club mates to help play test the campaign generation system for Great Escape Games, whilst they were being written.

And yesterday, at the Old Glory Show in Derby, I managed to get my hands on the finished version they have just released. :)

It is a really nice, simple campaign system utlising a hex map, with rules for movement, supply depots, command, artillery etc. Though primarily aimed at their own "Rules of Engagement" rules set, it is easily usable for many other WW2 rules sets and even as a stand alone.

And in addition, it can also be applied to other periods, I can see WW1 players finding it a very handy tool too, and I know Mark and Stuart (GEG) are already working on some other periods etc for it.

Anyone who enjoys or fancies playing campaign games with their club mates or friends, should take a moment to have a look. There is more info on the GEG website and forums.

A few of my club mates have also got a copy now, so looking forward to getting a RoE campaign going soon.

I don't play RoE, but I placed an order for mine on the day it came out. From reading about RoE, it looks like the campaign system should also work well for IABSM, or any other WWII game at that level.

What does RoE stand for? I assume it is a miniatures game, but to me RoE is "Rule of Engagement'.

Thanks,

That's correct. As Goose666 said in his third paragraph above. "Rules of Engagement" by Great Escape Games.

Missed that.

Indeedy..RoE is for "Rules of Engagement".

RoE or Rules of Engagement is a great rule set. If you haven't given it a try and enjoy playing platoon and skirmish level games with 1:1 representation. Then its well worth giving it a go. Seems to be a bit of hidden gem amoungst gamers.
