This would make a good setting for a game of infinity. Or 40K I suppose. Some smashed city, the result of a horrific natural disaster, is discovered, or known, to have some sort of informational gold mine. Either teams are sent in from the nation in charge of the area to retrieve it, while other forces try to beat them to it, or pirate gangs of independents try to upset the apple cart by grabbing it first.

All kinds of scenarios suggest themselves.

Battleship Island was also featured in an episode of Life After People on the History Channel. It would make a great setting for a skirmish campaign.

Tres cool.

Urban dystopias are one of my favorite themes--my first products were to recreate one and my MA thesis in Creative Writing is set in a similar type of place (assuming I get off my . . . ahem . . . and start writing).

It makes the After People type shows seem much more real.

Thanks.

Great photos. Especially battleship island. The photos show the effects of weathering. A good source for terrain building and detailing.
Many thanks!

That is amazing stuff.

I could see several of those "islands" developing in a flooded city, using the buildings and debris to "anchor" additional construction in place (actually build up around it).

I know that's not what they did here, but the end result could be similar:

I wish this had been cross-posted to SF Discussion. I almost missed it.
