The group here plays many games and have recently been having some fun with the old TOP GUN game from FASA using minis on a hex covered table after finishing the "main game".
Does anyone know of something similar (ie, fast, very simple) but going up a bit in complexity so that the different aircraft are at least different in flying abilities and weapons?
Thanks for the help.

There's a Top Gun inspired variant called Check Six. This is not the WWII game recently published and I'm not sure how much has been done recently, but it is a direct and rather nicely done version. Try Firstbloodgames.com for more information.

Sadly, it seems that the First Blood Games site is no longer active.

Calico Bill this is the link to the Check Six Yahoo group

link

You have to sign up and it is not a very busy group but the rules and aircraft charts used to be in the files.

It is a direct upgrade of Top Gun

Thank you everyone, especially Fatman. Some very good rules there for us to try.

Sorry about the dead link to Check Six. Still a good game, though.
