Beautiful! Love the bases! For what size/rules are you basing them?

Hi abelp, I base more or less for DBx, but I play a tabletop version of the Command and Colors boardgame. I decided to use double depth bases so that I could position the minis irregularly, and I dropped from 4 to 3 figures on these, because I wanted the light troops to look more spaced out.

Hi Mike; Foundry, A&A and Crusader. I've also been converting the substantially useless Foundry naked WotG figures to Numidians by making long greenstuff tunics to increase their modesty. A few surplus Spartans will be signing up for Massinissa, too.

Greag painted them somewhat darker than I had intended, although happily they are less dark than Nubidoobians.

Really nice looking tribal "mobs". Where are these Numidians going to deploy for Zama? With their cavalry? There isn't (IIRC)any mention of them fighting as part of the main Roman battle line (more of a liability than an asset to Roman minds I suspect!)

Love them, More fodder for my Allied Legion.

That pile must be daunting.

Hi Adster, they will form up on the right of the legions with the numidian cavalry on their flank; an alternative, I suppose, would be to deploy them behind the cavalry, as supports. In the absence of detailed information about their gear, I'm going to use a mix of light infantry and auxilia. IIRC our Masinissan Numidian deployment will have about 40 LI and 36 Auxilia.

Some of the other figures will be in the Carthaginian army; around 100 (Crusader Numidian Imitation Leginaries with thureos) are going to be city militia.

If we didn't already have all the militia/citizen levy that we need painted up that is definitely something I would do. Should look really good.

"Nubidoobians."

LOL! "I would've gotten away with it if it hadn't've been for you pesky Carthaginian allies…"
