Looks good to me. One of these days when I finish my Union cavalry, I will have to paint my Confederates.

If you are going to paint TEXAS cavalry, you need LANCES!!!

Wolverine30 Sep 2009 6:01 a.m. PST

Those are very nice. They're some of the best I've seen.

Yer I want some Lancers… Want them on foot too!

I believe they charged with lances on foot, as well as mounted, at Valverde in 1862, or is that just a myth?

Thank you Wolverine/Rusty, I have another three units to do though… and six more guns!

Thankfully all the infantry is finished, along with eight guns!

I know some Texas home guards were issued pikes, but I don't think they were ever used in anger. Never heard of lancer charges on foot at Valverde, but I am not very knowledgeable about that battle.

Great job, mate.

Just on horse at Valverde. Only half of them went in on the charge, they apparently did not all hear the order. After the bllod letting of that charge, they all burned their lances that night in a great bonfire. We ran this game a few times in 20mm at Cold Wars and Historicon, small, but fun.
