Blitzkreig commander (BKC) is good – the 2nd edition is due out in the next month.

Uses a command mechanism based on Warmaster – each commander can try to activate units – so each unit may get none, one or some actions per turn.

It is at a 1 base = 1 platoon level and you can probably play comfortably with a brigade on each side.

It has very good combined arms mechanisms – and provides a good flowing game.

Not great if you want endless detail and differences between similar tanks though.

If you are interested in play-testing a 1:1 rules set you might consider 'Combined Operations of WWII 1944-45' – currently in development by MAJIC Miniatures.

It depends on what you want from the rules.

I have been tempted to do a 6mm ww2 force as the rules I like (IABSM from TFL) have a ground scale that matches the figure scale…

What sort of complexity? What level of operation?

Rapidfire is simple and is used for battalion sized formations etc.

Flames of war is another choice and is very popular.

Battlefront WWII is a moderately complex game. Similar to Fire and Fury but for WWII.

BKC is another choice. I don't know much about it but some folks swear by it.

Finally, there are plenty of choices on freewargamesrules.co.uk

I always Liked Spearhead for 1/300th WWII.

"looking for a rules set."

What level of command are you interested, what size of engagement, what game duration, what level of representation?

There are thousands of WW2 rules out there, and for the vast majority of them scale of figs is irrelevant, so some idea of what sort of game you are looking for would be helpful or you are just going to get everyones favourite rules recommended.

I am with Tom – I like Spearhead, although Martin asks the best first question, what scale do you like

Command Decision- Test of Battle is my ruleset of choice. Fourth version in the line of Command Decision rules.

Flames of War plays well in 6mm. Plenty of rules and lists support as well.

BooneC: Do you know where there are any blogs/sites with pictures of FoW in this scale?
