Yes, I know "Another one?"

About a year ago I suggested a 'map wargaming' board, and Bill argued with "TMP" the clue is in the title. Fair enough.

What I am asking for is a 'Campaign' board, to go on the 'General' section, along with 'Dice', "Game design" etc.

I like playing battles in some sort of context, but discussion of how to handle that gets put in the periods boards, where it may not get read by someone not interested in that period, but has a useful idea etc, or 'Design', where thay get lost and/or off-topic and table based.

It would also be a place to discuss pregame techniques for ensuring pick up battles are a bit more interesting than put stuff on the table. For instance Peter Pig rules have lovely systmes- you may bring identical armies, but there is always a definate attacket/defender and a mismatch in what is fielded.

Sigh, another board request.

The fun thing though with PP/RFCM rules is that…in any of their rules that uses Mortars….Mortars are "Gawd"…Knock out a guys mortars, and no matter what else he has, he has lost 1/3 – 1/2 of his firepower on the board…it's weird..but they place a lot of emphasis on mortars in their rules…more than I think they should.

MRC…and you forgot to say "Lovely"…

Personally I find campaigns are pretty period dependant, so a separate forum wouldn't nessecerily help.

I think a Zardoz Campaign board could almost work…

Martin Rapier24 Sep 2009 1:35 a.m. PST

We had the campaign discussion a while back, the mechanics are either period specific (so go on the period board) or are general so go on Game Design.

I will however support the proposal for a campaign board if we can get rid of ten other boards which had less than five posts in the last week. Fair deal?

Griefbringer & M. Rapier – I fully support your suggestions.

More whining about more boards…Lovely and typical.
