I saw on Wargame Vault that Rapid Fire 2nd Edition is for sale in PDF for $15. USD I'd like a little more info before I buy. Can anyone Who has played them give me a review on what has changed from 1st edition? Thanks for the help, John |

You're a wee bit behind the times. Rapid Fire 2nd Ed has been around since 2005!! |

You're a wee bit behind the times. Rapid Fire 2nd Ed has been around since 2005!! It's true! But me being a tight wad and the print book being expensive here in the states, I was waiting for either e-bay or a PDF. Now that the PDF is here, I am interested. |

The rules have been cleaned up and are better explained. Great photos
good included scenarios with pictures. Some new optional rules are included. Worth every penny. Best set of WW2 rules I've played. Just did Stoumount from the Bulge book last week. Americans won by a nose

I don't think the rules changes are that major (I don't recall noticing the transition much when playing) but as Joe says, the rules are much clearer. The use of diagrams is particularly helpful. I have version 1 but have recently ordered version 2 after flicking through a friend's copy. Hopefully the book will turn up soon! |

I've just pulled down the PDF from wargamevault.com and have had a peek. You guys are right. This is a MUCH better presented game than v1. Thanks for the info. John |

You'll enjoy them. Me and the kids do around our place (the wife is at the in-laws for two weeks, so the dining room table has been taken over by toys!) |

A great set of rules that gives a satisfactorybresult, personally I don't like too much armour on the table, the rules rewards period tactics also. I don't like the new arty rules but otherwise all ok. cheers matt |

Not only are the rules cleaner but better explanations. For example morale results are now spelled out. Used to be some interesting discussions on what the result "No Offensive Action" meant as a morale result, now detailed. Will be running a scenario at HURRICON (www.hmgs-south.com) this saturday. Have run a different scenario at RECON and HURRICON now for several years and the rules are very popular with those playing at the conventions. Highly recommend also joining the two yahoo groups as well as checking out the official site as well as Mark Piper's excellent site. |

Hey Marc, Do you have the links or at least the names of the yahoo groups? I've seen one but have not been approved yet. John |

Hi John; Sotty to be so long but a good excuse, was away at a wargame convention! The two Yahoo groups I belong to for Rapid Fire are: RapidFire RF2Support Let me know if you need anything else. Marc |

Why two yahoo groups for these rules? |

Like anything there was a falling out among some of the participants. The RF2 group split off from the RapidFire group and concentrates just on second edition. Both worth joining and fair overlap in membership. |

Okay, thanks for the heads up on that. :-) |

The RF2 group also has the ex-members of the RapidFire group who had the temerity to express sympathy for supposed wrong-doers, all of whom were summarily ejected from the group. But I've got over the bitterness. Steve P |
