Was cruising around brigade's site ooodling spaceships, since I won starmada Brigade, and saw thing about Wessex games Ironcow land game, just curious if it's any good? Also does it have the same "background" as Starmada, AM-REP, e.t.c, kind of enjoy reading rules that also include homegrown universe, give me something to spice up my gaming life
..anyway, tell me about it please. |

There was talk of a pending update, so maybe that is it. The older variant is a pretty straight-forward, and simple set of rules, primarily geared to gaming in 6mm, although no reason you couldn't use larger minis if you have the money, and space. In the older set of rules, infantry were pretty much "speedbumps" for the armor. Supposedly, in the newer release that was going to be corrected, to make them more comparable to today's infantry, e.g. with a better anti-tank capability than in the older version. Vehicle stats are provided for the Brigade range of 6mm and 15mm Sci-Fi minis, or vice versa. They are a decent set of rules for medium to large-sized battles, which can be played in a few hours. There is more info available on the WGSF Yahoo Group, where the author drops in, from time to time, in order to answer questions about the rules: link |

It's currently 2103 though will be 2136 for the (one day) 2nd edition (long story, don't ask). Background is the same in that the one in Starmada comes from Iron Cow. A PDF will be available soon once I have painted the last few models for photos (and stop getting distracted by 28mm Burgundians, my son's Space MArines and 1/144th aeroplanes

I haven't got Starmada but PDF of Iron Cow has an overview of each power bloc as well as potted history of major wars since 2050. The map at the bottom of my blog might help with the European countries: link |

Steve, nice job on the 6mm figs. The armor, and the armored infantry especially, look great with what sounds like was a pretty easily accomplished paint job. Question on painting: Do you not find that they are a bit dark, or is it the lighting? I love 6mm myself, but find I have to paint everything a few shades lighter to make it pop out
dark gray instead of black, lighter greens instead of olive, etc. I enjoyed your blog; I'll have to start following your game. Jim |

It's the lighting Jim, they show up well enough on the battle
Thank you Richard1967! :-) |

OP, you might want to check out the Iron Cow forums on the Brigade Models website: link There's some discussion of mechanics, some fan-suggested house rules, talk about the 2nd edition, etc. |

Nothing like a little humor to help with motivation. I do understand the Burgundian distraction though – nice looking figs Steve. Please paint up some gendarmes too, so we can have inspiration on those as well. |
