Gentlemen,

I finally managed to play my first F&IW game last weekend. Fun was had by all involved in this solo affair.

More can be read on my rather ordinary website including some very average photos:

Thanks.

Very nice stuff. I missed what rules you were using.

Very cool terrain for a DB(X) game and would both sides would have Littoral classification? Have you thought about adding some parts from HOTT? Shamans (magic), crows (flyers), Lurkers (scouts) to name a few?

Good pictures.
Cheers,
Robert

Thanks guys!

Chuck, I used a set written by a friend based on the DBA Humberside Extensions or DBX as I have seen it referred too.
Probably not accurate by some peoples standards but it was a fun game!

Robert, To be honest, I didn't and haven't thought about the classification. I just made it up as I went. I spent time making the waterway and wanted to use it, so I did :o)

I enjoy the painting/modelling side of the hobby more than the gaming side so I'm not really bothered by the how the game plays – as it does others I know. I have fun, push my toys around and build stuff out of 'rubbish' which to me is all that really matters.

As it happens, I have thought of adding some elements from HoTT. I have the GW 10mm model of Beorn the Bear that I plan to use as a beast, some eagles I plan to use as flyers and have been looking around at the various miniature companies for a suitable Shaman miniature. Hawkeye, Chingachgook and Magua are actually based individually on washers so they can be used on other bases made from magnetic sheeting for other rules systems like HoTT (based as Heroes) or where individual miniatures are used such as TVG and BAB.

The Rangers, Indians are also based individually and like Hawkeye and Co. they are sitting in are some of these types of bases.

Great Photos and AAR. Makes me want to break out my F&I. I may try your scenario with the club.

Good job Barry;
You've got me thinking of this period now too.
