Has anyone used Vallejo Stone Effect Red Oxide Paste picture as 'lazy' basing for Mars?

Cheers

Didn't NASA admit that they deliberately alter the colour of Mars surface photos to fit peoples expectations of a red planet? I'm sure that Mars is beige…

Neat. Very neat.

I'm sure that Mars is beige

Nooo that would mean that Mars drives an Austin Allegro and has leather patches on its elbows…

I always thought TOGs were from another planet …

The surface dusts contain a large amount of Fe2O3 – ferric oxide. Otherwise known as "rust". The rest is largely silica in the form of fine sand.

Looking at some of those photos, I can definitely see the need for a hover, or grav tank.

BBurger19 Sep 2009 1:45 a.m. PST

Not enough atmospheric pressure for hover. Grav, tracks or wheels it is.

Even after terraforming, there'd be parts of Mars where the atmosphere would still kill you dead, and ground your hovertank. Mars has huge vertical relief compared to Earth, despite being smaller.
