Yeah, contentious topic post but interested in others thoughts on the best rules to (1) wargame eastern (Polish/Muscovite renaissance)
and, at a pince
TYW and/or (2) 6mm/15mm gaming (noting 28mm is the main scale for Father Tilly mechanics). To narrow the field, I like simplicity in (am a warhammer/warmaster, DBA and even Impetus type). |

"Best rules for eastern and/or 6mm/15mm renaissance? " Rules are scale agnostic. |

Have you considered DBR? DBR is a bit more complicated than DBA but is less complicated than DBM. I use it for ECW, and am very happy with it. Am intending to use it for some other sub-periods of the 1500-1700 AD centuries. For ECW I use 6mm figures on the same sized bases that 15mm figures would use (e.g. my pike and shot elements have 24 6mm figures in 3 ranks instead of 4 15mm figures in one rank). That said, I echo Mike Snorbens' point. Just substitute several 6mm figures for on one base for a 15mm or 18mm figure. I understand that some people play WAB but use 12 6mm figures on the same sized base that a 28mm figure would use. |

I agree with Benedict Arnold
DBR is the best and the most versatile. |

You could try Hussaria, it is from the Pike & Shot Society and is designed specifically for the nuance of Eastern European renaissance warfare
