Here is a good humorous and accurate look at the Gunfight near/close to OK Corral.

Enjoy.

That was a very long read. But it was well worth every minute. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Reminds me of a docu I watched a few years ago about controversial police shootings. Witness reliability once lead flying or the danger of lead flying gets really ropey. The brain starts seeing things like a fast slide-show, & later fills in the gaps with rationale that may or may not be true. (e.g. in one staged incident witnesses who saw a guy point a gun at someone then heard him shoot into the ceiling testified that they had seen him shoot at the guy he's been targetting) Gestures by parties involved are easy to misinterpret. (A reconstruction of police shooting dead an innocent furniture repairman showed that he turning in suprise when they challenged him on the street carrying a wrapped table-leg under his arm really did look like he was levelling a shotgun at them.)

I had an incident at work a few years back where i called out the police to 2 druggies squaring up with an axe & and a stick of wood. Actually my observation of the incident was snap shot, just as above as I was glancing elsewhere e.g. to pick up the phone. I bet neither Sills nor Bouland gazed fixedly at the incident throughout.

Overall though, if you strut round talking about shooting people you can't boo-hoo too much if they shoot you first.

Hi

And McLowry did more than look for witnesses, he was the prosecuter as well. And the other agreed upon point was with Ike and his version. In the "get to fighting or get away", Ike wasn't there.

All the alternate versions fail from the point of "occums razor".

In parallel, In his old age, Elfago Baca was interviewed and asked how he lived so long when famous gunman of his era died young. He said that he always was willing to stand in court and prove he was justified. The difference is there as well for the Earps versus the "outlaws".

So if you are guilty unless you plead innocent.

"Yes siree I shot them fellas but they deserved it yer honor!"

"Good, we find you not guilty!"
