I've been looking for fancy war games used by the big news networks and government agencies and found this during my search.

During Oct 24-26 2000 Washington Emergency Responders planed for a plane crashing into the Pentagon using a table with models on it.

Not a war game battle as such but I was impressed with their use of tabletop models and terrain for the exercise.

Thought it might be interesting with the anniversary coming up.

Not a surprise.

I work as a consultant for the local EMA/DHS. We conduct sevral annual excercises including school shooting, mass casualty incidents and chemical incidents at the Army Depot storage facility. We even conduct joint excercises with private companies as well in regards to their faclities such as dams, power plants, tranmission lines, nuclear plants and hazardous transports.

Never really conducted in secret as a lot of volunteer first responders and government agencies are involved. the results of such tests are distributed on a need to know basis.

In fact I just finished, today at noon) a speech on DHS/EMA focus and projects with a local community organization. The focus is and will continue to be prepardness for agencies, first responders and citizens.

Hm, so this was about a year before 9/11? Interesting stuff.
